Deepwatch is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and goal-driven professional to join our team as an Accounting Manager. The ideal candidate thrives on managing and completing task lists with precision while maintaining focus on achieving measurable goals. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent time management skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to drive results in a dynamic environment.This individual will oversee daily accounting and payroll operations at Deepwatch India and identify and implement opportunities for improvement. Please be eager to share your experience with various accounting issues and demonstrate a strong eagerness to exceed expectations.

In this role, you’ll get to:

  • Ensure adherence, accurate, and timely month-end and year-end close processes in accordance to Indian and international accounting standards (Ind AS, US GAAP, IFRS)
  • Ensure 100% compliance with Indian tax laws, including GST filing, TDS (Tax Deducted at Source),Income Tax Act, and advance tax payments
  • Address notices, assessments, and queries from Indian tax authorities and coordinate with tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate filings
  • Manage General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), payroll, banking and reconciliations
  • Implement and maintain strong internal financial controls and documentation
  • Own end-to-end India payroll processing and compliance including Provident Fund (PF), Employees’ State Insurance (ESI), Professional Tax (PT), Gratuity provisioning and compliance, and Statutory bonus as applicable
  • Manage relationships with payroll vendors and review payroll outputs for accuracy and compliance
  • Ensure adherence to Indian labor laws, including Shops & Establishments Act, Payment of wages Act, Minimum Wages Act, and applicable leave regulations
  • Oversee year-end payroll activities, including Form 16 issuance, payroll reconciliations, and employee tax-related support
  • Manage internal/external audits provide supporting documentation for India and USA
  • Act as the primary finance liaison with Indian auditors, banks, regulators, and external advisors
  • Develop, monitor, and analyze budgets and cash forecasts for India operations
  • Oversee statutory corporate compliance with India entity including; ROC filings (AOC-4, MGT-7, and related requirements) and Director KYC and DIN compliance
  • Coordinate with Company Secretaries and external consultants to ensure compliance with the companies Act, 2013
  • Provide accounting and reporting support to the US finance team as needed, including reconciliations, audit support, and collaboration during close cycles
  • Partner with US finance leadership while maintaining primary ownership of India accounting and compliance
  • Identify opportunities to streamline, standardize, and automate accounting and compliance processes
  • Provide FP&A support

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) is mandatory
  • 8-10 years of progressive experience in accounting, ideally in a Big 4 firm, multinational company, or high-growth SaaS/tech environment
  • Expert knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and Ind AS, with strong understanding of SOX compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in Indian regulatory frameworks, including the Companies Act, Income Tax Act, GST regulations and labor laws
  • Proven experience in a task-driven role with a focus on achieving goals and meeting deadlines
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Possess a proactive attitude and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across geographies.
  • Give strong attention to detail in all matters
  • Possess a high degree of integrity
  • Work and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrate proficiency in productivity tools such as Netsuite, Maxio, Adaptive Planning and Floqast, and advanced Excel skills
