How You'll Make an Impact

We are looking for a Staff Engineer to lead our efforts in building developer-centric solutions for AI-driven software development. This is a high-impact role where you will shape how developers write secure code using modern AI coding assistants.

• Own the IDE Experience: Design, build, and maintain IDE plugins and extensions that integrate Endor Labs' security insights directly into developer workflows across tools like Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and VS Code.
• Build Seamless Integrations: Create robust integrations with AI coding assistants, enabling developers to receive real-time security feedback as they write code.
• Architect MCP & Language Server Solutions: Develop and maintain Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and Language Server Protocol (LSP) implementations that power intelligent, context-aware security recommendations.
• Drive the "Shift Left" Vision: Embed security directly into the development process, making secure coding the path of least resistance for developers using AI tools.
• Shape the Product Roadmap: Work closely with Product and Engineering leadership to define the strategy for our AI-assisted secure development tooling.
• Lead with Technical Excellence: Set the standard for modular, secure, and maintainable code across our developer tools portfolio.

What You Bring to the Table

• A Seasoned Builder: You have 10-15 years of experience building and shipping complex software systems, with a strong track record of working independently with minimal guidance.
• IDE & DevTools Expertise: You have deep experience building IDE plugins, extensions, or developer tools, with strong knowledge of Language Server Protocol (LSP) and Model Context Protocol (MCP).
• Modern Tech Stack Proficiency: You are highly proficient in TypeScript and Node.js, with expertise in writing clean, modular, and secure APIs.
• AI-Assisted Development Practitioner: You have hands-on experience using AI coding assistants (Cursor, Copilot, etc.) in large codebases and understand the nuances of AI-driven development workflows.
• Security-Minded Engineer: You write secure code by default and understand how to embed security practices into developer tooling.
• A Self-Starter: You thrive in ambiguous environments and can translate high-level goals into actionable technical plans without detailed requirements.
• A Collaborative Communicator: You excel at articulating complex technical concepts and building tools that developers genuinely love to use.
• Systems Builder: You have significant experience (likely 7+ years) shipping and operating complex software systems, with a demonstrated focus on demonstrated focus on building backend systems for developer experience and tools.
• A Curious Problem Solver: You are driven by curiosity about system pains and are genuinely excited to build elegant, automated solutions.
• A Hands On Engineer: You are highly proficient in a systems language like Golang Or Python and have expereince with building scalable, ergonomic APIs and CLI tools. You have hands-on experience with modern observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry), CI/CD systems and Kuburnetes.
• A Collaborative Partner: You understand that building a DevEx Tool is a team sport. You excel at communicating complex ideas clearly and enjoy working with your users to build tools they love
