About Intus Care:

Intus Care is a leader in innovative, data-driven healthcare solutions focused on enabling value-based care organizations. We are building a modern, cloud-native Electronic Medical Record (EMR) platform purpose-built for PACE organizations. Our platform is greenfield and designed around scalability, interoperability, analytics, and operational efficiency.

At Intus Care, quality is a software engineering discipline. We embrace automation-first, code-driven, and AI-assisted testing practices to ensure our platform meets the highest standards of reliability, security, and compliance.

Role Overview:

As a Tech Lead, SDET, you will own the test automation architecture and quality engineering strategy across our EMR and platform services. This is a hands-on technical leadership role, responsible for designing scalable automation frameworks, embedding quality into platform and product teams, and mentoring SDETs and engineers across geographically distributed teams. This role is ideal for an engineer who writes production-quality code, thinks in systems, and treats quality as a first-class engineering concern.

Key Responsibilities:

Test Automation & Framework Engineering

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable, reusable test automation frameworks using Playwright and complementary tools for:

  • API and service-level testing

  • Integration and contract testing

  • End-to-end workflows across EMR and platform services

  • Ensure automation frameworks are code-driven, reliable, and extensible, with minimal flakiness.

  • Drive high automation coverage while balancing execution speed and maintainability.

Quality Engineering Strategy

  • Define and own the quality engineering strategy across platform and product teams.

  • Establish testing standards, patterns, and best practices aligned with system architecture.

  • Partner with Engineering and Platform teams to improve testability by design.

AI-Assisted Test Engineering

  • Actively leverage AI-assisted development and testing tools (pref Claude Code) to accelerate test development and refactoring

  • Identify opportunities to apply AI for smarter regression analysis, defect prediction, and root cause analysis.

Technical Leadership & Near-Shore Collaboration

  • Serve as the technical leader for SDET practices, mentoring SDETs, and influencing software engineers.

  • Define and track quality metrics (automation coverage, defect leakage, release readiness).

  • Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and collaborate with near-shore development and QA teams.

  • Establish clear workflows, expectations, and quality standards to ensure effective collaboration across time zones.

  • Review automation code with the same rigor as production code.

Performance, Data & Compliance Testing

  • Lead performance, load, and scalability testing for critical workflows.

  • Ensure testing strategies align with HIPAA, security, and compliance requirements.

Requirements:

  • Strong software engineering background with a focus on test automation and quality engineering.

  • Hands-on experience designing and maintaining Playwright-based automation frameworks.

  • Proven experience building or scaling test automation frameworks for distributed systems.

  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript for automation and tooling.

  • Experience testing APIs, microservices, and data-intensive applications.

  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps-integrated testing.

  • Experience working with and leading near-shore development or QA teams.

  • Ability to lead technically while remaining deeply hands-on.

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience as a Tech Lead, SDET or Senior SDET in a SaaS or platform environment.

  • Experience testing healthcare applications, EMR/EHR systems, or regulated software.

  • Familiarity with FHIR, HL7, and healthcare data workflows.

  • Experience with Azure and cloud-native testing strategies.

  • Exposure to observability, monitoring, and production testing techniques.

  • Strong interest in AI-driven test automation and quality engineering.

Why Join Intus Care?

  • Own the quality engineering foundation for a modern healthcare EMR platform.

  • Lead Playwright-based automation and AI-first testing initiatives at scale.

  • Influence platform and product architecture through quality-led design.

  • Work with distributed, near-shore engineering teams in a modern SaaS environment.

  • Fully remote, collaborative engineering culture.
